The following screenshots shows all sources from where the social mention system is querying.

Social mention has a free REST API that can be used to retrieve the information.

Let’s use socialmention and see what information is available and what are the indicator that can be presented.

Tracking the social media footprint of a specific subject: “UTMB”.

The first impression is that the query takes some time (minutes…)

Once the result is presented we have the following screen presenting the overview of the social activity.

Sentiment

This indicator represents the sentiments of the results. (Positive, Neutral, Negative).

Users

This will present the most active users on the topic. The username can be user to perform deeper research and identify if the person should require specific attention (ambassador, …)

Keywords

 

Integration effort

Let’s consider a granularity of 1 day for the following example.

We will perform the call for that subject on all sources (twitter, facebook, youtube…) for that period.

The information will be stored and compared in a timeline graph for example.

The following code presents a basic approach to retrieve the different elements from the API
